TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (42-18-4-6) will play the second of their three-game road trip against the Alaska Aces (34-29-3-4). Ontario has a 7-3-0-0 record against Alaska this season, and has outscored the Aces by a 31-20 margin. Alaska is most recently coming off of three consecutive losses: two at Utah and one at Idaho. Ontario is 31-28-5 all-time against Alaska since the two clubs began competition against each other in 2008-09.
SPECIAL TEAMS GLANCE:
Through 10 games this season against the Aces, Ontario has converted on nine of 43 chances on the power-play (20.9%), while only surrendering seven goals on 44 chances against on the penalty kill (84.1%). Both percentages are improvements when weighed opposite of Ontario's totals against all opponents throughout the season.
KITSYN & CONNOLLY LEAD THE WAY:
Reign forward and LA Kings prospect Maxim Kitsyn has produced at a point-per-game clip for Ontario against Alaska this season, recording 10 points (7g-3a) in 10 games, while the Aces' Brendan Connolly has also maintained a point-per-game pace, with nine points (3g-6a) in nine games against Ontario.
BLACKWATER APPROACHING CLUB SINGLE-SEASON GOALS MARK:
With two games remaining, Reign forward Judd Blackwater is only another two goals away from tying the single-season club record of 36 set by his good friend Colton Yellow Horn in 2012-13. His next game-winning goal will tie the single-season club mark also held by Yellow Horn (10), and his next point will give him his 300th career pro point.
