2015 KELLY CUP PLAYOFFS

Tonight's Matchup: Despite a shootout defeat on Wednesday in Fort Wayne, the Cyclones have shrunk their "Magic Number" down to five as they make their way into Northwest Ohio for a battle against the Toledo Walleye. The Clones picked up an overtime victory against the Fish last week to run their season record to 3-2-0-1.

Scouting the Walleye: Derek Lalonde's club is on the verge of its first North Division title, needing just one win in their final three games to secure the top spot. Coming into the weeeknd, they have a three-point edge over Fort Wayne. Rookie Tyler Barnes continues to pace Toledo in scoring, having amassed 69 points (29g, 40a) in 68 games this season. On Wednesday, he was named to the 2014-15 ECHL All-Rookie Team. Kyle Bonis is another dangerous weapon for the Fish; through 62 games of work, he's collected 57 points (26g, 31a). A big reason for Toledo's success this year has been its goaltending. Jeff Lerg ranks second among all ECHL goaltenders with a 2.32 goals-against average 31-8-2-1 record. With Neil Conway still on the shelf, the Walleye have added rookie alum Jordan Ruby. The RIT alum won is first professional start last week against the Kalamazoo Wings and posted a 3.01 GAA in that game.

Last Time Out: Brett Perlini's goal in the third round of the shootout proved to be the game-winner as the Komets rallied past the Cyclones by a 3-2 final score in front of 7,760 at Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday night.

Grab the Early Lead: Cincinnati's best ingredient for success this season is early offense. When they score the game's opening goal, they have earned a 24-9-2-2. On night's where they score the first two or more goals, they're undefeated.

No Shots for You: The Clones continue to frustrate their opponent in the shots-on-goal department. After another stellar showing last weekend, they rank second in the ECHL with an average of 27.49 shots-allowed per game. Only the South Carolina Stingrays are averaging fewer pucks on net (26).
