
Dawkins And Cameron Land In Ottawa

OTTAWA - The Lynx roster continues to evolve. IF Gookie Dawkins was assigned to the Lynx roster after a trade with the Seattle organization and RHP Ryan Cameron was transferred to Ottawa from Single-A Clearwater. IF Joey Hammond was transferred to Double-A Reading and RHP Clay Condrey's contract was purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies.
Dawkins, 28, was acquired by the Phillies in a trade with the Mariners on July 31st. He has spent the entire 2007 season with Seattle's Triple-A affiliate in Tacoma, hitting .250 with 4 HR and 32 RBI in 81 games. He is a career .254 hitter through ten Minor League seasons. He made his Major League debut in 1999 with the Cincinnati Reds.
Cameron, 29, has no record and a 7.20 ERA in seven appearances with the Lynx this season. He is 0-1 with one save and a 5.53 ERA in 29 games with Double-A Reading this season. Last year, Cameron spent the entire season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he went 6-2 with a 3.19 ERA and seven saves. This is Cameron's 11th professional season.
Hammond, 29, was a force with Reading, batting .320 with 33 runs batted in over 64 games with the R-Phils. He has accumulated a .280 average with 5 RBI in 25 games with the Lynx this season. He has a .272 career batting average over nine seasons in the Minor Leagues. He played in Ottawa in both 2003 and 2004, combining for a .257 average, one home run and 62 runs batted in over 193 games with the Lynx.
Condrey, 31, was 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA and one save in 10 games with the Lynx this season. He returns to the Phillies, where he has a 4-0 record with a 6.29 ERA in 19 games this season. This is Condrey's 10th professional season.
