Chairmen of the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame committee and inducted member in 1997, George Daddario, passed away Friday morning. He was 84.

"On behalf of the Rich Family and the Buffalo Bisons organization, I want to extend our deepest sympathies to the Daddario family," said Mike Buczkowski, Bisons Vice President/General Manager. "George was a great friend to us all and a passionate supporter of baseball in Buffalo."

A Buffalo native, George helped set attendance records as Director of Public Relations and Promotions for the Bisons. Thanks to his efforts, the Bisons led Minor League Baseball in attendance in 1958 (with a seventh place club) and drew a minor league record 413,000 fans in 1959. He was described by Buffalo Courier-Express Columnist Charley Bailey as "Bill Veeck with a necktie."

Daddario played seven years in the minor leagues and batted over .300 in four seasons. He was a charter member and Chairmen of the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame committee. In 1997, he was inducted into the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame.

Daddario also enjoyed similar success in his career with the National Basketball Association's Buffalo Braves where he guided them to a 72 percent increase in attendance and a ranking among the NBA leaders.
