David Desharnais Signs Two Year Deal With Montreal Canadiens

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, learned this afternoon that David Desharnais has signed a two-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

Desharnais, 22, played with the Cyclones last season, netting 29 goals and 77 assists for an ECHL-best 106 points. David was named the league's MVP, Rookie of the Year and leading scorer. He helped the club to its first-ever Kelly Cup championship.

The five-foot-six, 177 pound native of Quebec City, Quebec, has been with Hamilton (AHL) this season-appearing in all eleven games and has three goals and six assists for nine points.

The Cyclones host games on Friday (Faith Night with New Method performing) and Saturday (Throwback Night with Stingers jerseys and one dollar hot dogs, pizza and beers) against the Elmira Jackals. Faceoff each night I at 7:30pm.
