BOISE, Idaho - Jean-Philippe Lamoureux made 24 saves and the first goal of Jordan Foreman's professional career turned out to be the game-winner as Alaska defeated Idaho 3-1 in front of 3,173 Wednesday at Qwest Arena.

The win, coupled with Fresno's late rally to beat Phoenix 3-2 in a shootout that lasted 20 rounds after the Falcons had tied the game with five seconds left in regulation, gives the Aces (6-2) a share of first place in the West Division. Alaska's winning percentage ranks second only to Wheeling in the 23-team ECHL.

Idaho (3-3-2) out-shot Alaska 10-8 in a scoreless first period, and despite being out-played for much of the second, still managed to take the lead when Marty Flichel banked a centering pass off Alaska defenseman Ed Hill's skate and behind Lamoureux at 12:01. The Steelheads held that advantage for exactly 31 seconds, until a drop pass from Cam Keith found its way onto the stick of Josh Soares, who rifled his league-leading 10th goal of the year past Idaho starter Rejean Beauchemin. Foreman's goal came off the rush in the final minute of the middle frame, and also beat the Steelheads netminder top shelf.
