RoadRunners Receive Crowley From AHL Houston

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, announced today that defenseman Dane Crowley has been assigned to the club from Houston of the American Hockey League.

Crowley, 21, tallied two goals and added an assist in five games with the Aeros this season. The rookie from Winnipeg, Manitoba recorded a career-best 10 goals and 29 points and registered 131 penalty minutes in 66 games in 2007-08 with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League. Selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Crowley totaled 26 goals, 83 assists, 109 points, and 596 penalty minutes in 312 career junior games over five seasons.

In a separate transaction, the RoadRunners have waived defenseman Andrew Andricopoulos. Andricopoulos did not record a point in seven games with Phoenix.

The RoadRunners return to US Airways Center at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday to open a two-game series with the Fresno Falcons.
