Lynx Turn Sea Wolves Into Catnip 6-3

BILOXI, MS - Jason Tejchma had two goals and Mathieu Melanson had one goal and two assists, but the Sea Wolves were never in the game offensively as they lost to the Augusta Lynx by the score of 6-3 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Wednesday.

A slow start once again plagued the Sea Wolves, as Augusta's Justin Keller got the Lynx on the board just 55 seconds into the game, hammering home Travis Fuller's pass from Augustathe right circle to give the Lynx a 1-0 lead. Joel Hanson scored his first goal of the year at 7:40 of the first period, and then an uncovered Matt Auffrey converted a pass from Patrick Bordeleau to give the Lynx a 3-0 lead. Dallas Steward's power-play goal at 17:34 added to the Augusta lead before Jason Tejchma scored his first of the game at 18:02 of the first period to get Missississippi on the board.

Mathieu Melanson notched his fourth goal of the year, firing from the high slot to beat Augusta's Riku Helenius through a screen on the power play at 3:26 of the second period, and Jason Tejchma would add a second goal at 7:02 of the second period, but the Sea Wolves were never able two draw closer than two goals behind the Lynx.

Jeremy Duchesne made 24 saves earning the loss, and the Sea Wolves power play was 1-for-8.
