Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Dario Agrazal induced 12 groundouts and struck out seven over 7.0 innings of one-run ball, but the Bats rallied for five runs in the eighth against Indy's Brandon Waddell to take the third game of the series on Saturday night, 6-3. Will Craig hit a two-run homer in the loss.

Louisville (12-18) overcame a 3-1 deficit after seven innings of play to hand the Tribe their third loss on the seven-game homestand. Singles by Blake Trahan and Nick Longhi started the frame and after Josh VanMeter walked to load the bases with no outs, Phillip Ervin reached safely on a sinking line drive to center field that Jason Martin couldn't corral. With the lead trimmed to one, Waddell (L, 0-2) got a big strikeout of Brian O'Grady before Rob Refsnyder smacked a bases-clearing double to deep center to give the Bats a 5-3 advantage. Luis Gonzalez added an RBI single two batters later to complete the scoring.

Indianapolis (15-13) led 2-0 after one inning thanks to Craig's second home run of the series and ninth of the season.

Agrazal cruised with the early lead, allowing just two baserunners - one hit and one walk - through the first six innings of play. Three straight singles and a passed ball opened the seventh against the 24-year-old righty, but he limited the damage to one unearned run with a strikeout and double play started by third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes.

Jackson Stephens (W, 3-0) tossed 2.0 innings and gave up one run to earn the win. Anthony Bass (S, 6) pitched around a two-out walk to Erich Weiss in the ninth for the save.

The Indians tied a season high with 12 runners left on base. Kevin Kramer finished with a game-high three hits and Jose Osuna reached base four times - two doubles and two walks.

The Indians and Bats conclude their four-game set on Sunday at 1:35 p.m. ET. Right-hander Eduardo Vera (0-2, 4.85) will oppose righty Odrisamer Despaigne (1-2, 5.22).
