TODAY'S FINALE:Louisville finishes up a seven-game road trip and four-game series at Indianapolis on Sunday, the last time they will play at Victory Field until June 24-25. With a win today, the Bats would salvage not only a series tie, but also a winning road trip, currently 3-3 on the trip after taking 2 of 3 games from the Toledo Mud Hens from April 29-May 1. On Sunday, right-hander Odrisamer Despaigne makes his seventh start of the season for Louisville.

AGAINST INDIANAPOLIS:Today marks the seventh meeting between Louisville and Indianapolis this season, with each team having 3 wins coming into today. It's also the seventh meeting at Victory Field, with the next 6 after today slated for Louisville Slugger Field. Last night's 6-3 win for the Bats marked the first of 7 matchups this season that was decided by more than 2 runs.

VANMETER CALLED UP:The Reds selected the contract of infielder Josh VanMeter, who is set to make his Major League debut for Cincinnati. The 24-year-old had been, almost inarguably, the best hitter in the International League this season, pacing hitters in runs scored (27), home runs (13), RBI (31), total bases (81), slugging pct. (.736) and OPS (1.167). In 30 apps with Louisville this season, he's batting .336 (37-for-110).

-VanMeter hit 3 home runs on April 29 at Toledo, becoming the sixth player in franchise history to do so. His 8 RBI in that game tied a franchise record. He finished April with 11 homers, tied for the most in a calendar month in Bats history with Juan Francisco (July 2010).

- Josh has 4 multi-homer games for LOU this season, already tying a franchise record for most in a season. He has started games at second base (12), third base (8) and first base (7) in 2019.

TRANSACTIONS: In addition to VanMeter receiving the call-up to the Majors, the Reds also optioned OF Scott Schebler to Louisville, while recalling LHP Cody Reed. For Schebler, it will be his fourth consecutive season appearing in a Louisville uniform, but the first time since 2016 in a non-rehab assignment. In 86 games with the Bats, Schebler has batted .306 (99-for-324) with 44 runs, 20 doubles, 8 triples, 14 home runs and 46 RBI. He hit for the cycle with Louisville on July 26, 2016. Left-hander Cody Reed, who is 1-2 with a 3.21 ERA (5er/14.0ip) in 11 games for LOU this season, has not allowed a run in each of his last 6 appearances.

We Go Together Like...: Interestingly, when Schebler debuts for the 2019 Bats, he will join Cody Reed as the only players to appear in a Louisville uniform in each of the last 4 season, 2016-19.

COMEBACK (at) VICTORY: Trailing 2-0 and then 3-1 going into the eighth inning on Saturday, the Bats rallied with a 5-run eighth to win 6-3. Rob Refsnyder played the hero role for Louisville, driving in 3 runs with a bases-clearing double. It marked their fifth comeback win of the season, and their first since April 16 vs. Columbus. It was Louisville's first come-from-behind win against Indianapolis since August 31, 2018, when they won 6-5 after trailing 3 different times. VanMeter, Brian O'Grady and HernanIribarren all had multi-hit games for the Bats in that contest.

DERBY PATTERN CONTINUES: Since 2010, the Bats have alternated results on Kentucky Derby day, going 5-5 (L-W-L-W-L-W-L-W-L-W) over their past 10 games on the same day as the Kentucky Derby after yesterday's 6-3 win over Indianapolis.
