
Dallas Assigns Petersen for Conditioning, Wathier Recalled

Cedar Park, TX - The Dallas Stars announced on Monday that the club has assigned forward Toby Petersen for a conditioning assignment with the Texas Stars, Dallas' primary affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The team also placed forward Raymond Sawada on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, retroactive to Feb. 3. Dallas also recalled forward Francis Wathier from the Texas Stars.
Wathier, 26, has appeared in three games for Dallas this season. He has also played in 45 AHL games for Texas, recording 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists). Wathier represented Texas at the AHL All-Star Game on Jan. 31 in Hershey, Penn. The 6-3, 208-pound winger was Dallas' sixth round selection (185th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Petersen, 32, suffered a lower-body injury in the beginning of January. He has skated in 34 games this season for the Stars, collecting one goal (shorthanded) and two assists with six penalty minutes. The Minneapolis, Minn. native set a new career-high in goals last season with nine. Petersen has played in 177 games over four seasons with Dallas, recording 32 points (14g, 18a).
Sawada, 25, suffered a shoulder injury in his only game with Dallas this season. In 11 career NHL games, Sawada has recorded one goal and five shots. He has played in 36 games for Texas this season, collecting 17 points (7g, 10a). Last season the 6-2, 207-pound right wing helped the Texas Stars reach the Calder Cup Finals in the club's inaugural season, accruing eight points (3g, 5a) in 24 playoff games and 19 points (8g, 11a) in 60 regular season games. The Richmond, British Columbia, native was selected in the second round (52nd overall) at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
The Stars begin an eight-game road trip on Monday, February 14th at 6:00 PM (CT) at the Lake Erie Monsters. Texas returns home to face the Oklahoma City Barons on Sunday, February 27th at 5:00 PM.
