WINDSOR, Colo. - The ECHL announced on Thursday that Colorado Eagles forwards Trent Daavettila and Kyle Ostrow were both named to the 2014 All-ECHL Second Team. The duo joins fellow forward Andrew Rowe of the Greenville Road Warriors, along with defensemen Mike Ratchuk of the Wheeling Nailers and Elgin Reid of the Kalamazoo Wings, in addition to Bakersfield Condors goaltender Laurent Brossoit to complete the All-ECHL second team roster.
Daavettila is currently ranked fourth in the league with 43 assists and is sixth in the ECHL in scoring with 65 points. In his two seasons with the Eagles, the Howell, Michigan native has racked up 132 points in 131 games with Colorado. He also leads the league with the longest scoring streak of the season, with 26 total points in 15 consecutive contests during the months of December and January. This marks the second time in his career that Daavettila has earned a postseason honor after also being named to the All-ECHL Second Team in 2010-11 while with Kalamazoo.
Ostrow currently stands fifth in the ECHL in scoring with 66 points, including 28 goals, while his five game-winning goals are tied for fourth in the league. Since joining the Eagles in 2012, Ostrow has generated 93 points in 108 games for Colorado. The former captain at the University of Denver also holds the league's longest road point streak, with at least one point in 15 straight road games, collecting 28 points between December 6th and January 24th.
