Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, announced that veteran forward Peter Sivak has been named to the All-ECHL First Team for 2013-14 as determined in a vote by the league's coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and members of the media.
Sivak, 32, leads the Aces and is second in league scoring with 79 points (29g-50a) in 65 games. His +46 rating leads the ECHL, on pace for the highest rating since 2007-08 when Chad Starling of Cincinnati tied the fourth highest mark (+48) in league history.
The 5-foot-11, 200 pound forward also leads the ECHL in shots (256), is second in shorthanded points (6) and tied for fifth in shorthanded goals (3). He also has 12 games of AHL experience with Abbotsford and Worcester, collecting five points (4g-1a).
The native of Cheb, Czech Republic was signed by the Aces as a free agent on Sept. 18, 2013 after ranking fifth in the ECHL last season in goals (33) with the San Francisco Bulls, while collecting 56 points in 64 games.
Sivak also has 576 career games of experience in the Slovakian and Czech Extraliga leagues with 232 points. He is one of 13 all-time Aces selections for All-ECHL First Team honors and is the first Aces forward selected since Wes Goldie in 2010-11.
