
D.C. United Loan Defender Jacob Greene to Loudoun United FC

WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United have loaned defender Jacob Greene to Loudoun United FC in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship for the remainder of the 2023 season. The club have the ability to recall Greene at any point throughout the 2023 MLS season.
Greene, 20, joined the Black-and-Red on Nov. 25, 2020 as the 15th Homegrown Signing in club history. The Maryland native made his D.C. United debut on April 19, 2022 in a 3-0 U.S. Open Cup win over Flower City Union. He scored his first goal for the club on April 29, 2023 in a 3-0 league win over Charlotte FC. In total, Greene appeared in 16 matches for the Black-and-Red and scored one goal across all competitions.
The defender initially joined the D.C. United Academy in 2014 and represented the Black-and-Red in various age groups. He made 113 appearances (99 starts) and scored nine goals for the Academy before signing with Loudoun United FC in their inaugural 2019 season. Greene made his professional debut for them on July 29, 2019 in a 3-0 league win against Louisville City FC. He played in a total of 72 matches for Loudoun United FC, scoring three goals and recording one assist before signing with the Black-and-Red. Greene has also represented the United States Youth National Team at the U-16 level in 2019 and at the U-20 level in 2021.
