COLUMBUS - The Columbus Crew have waived Midfielder Luis Diaz.
"We appreciate Luis' contributions to our Club, including during our 2020 MLS Cup championship season, and wish him well moving forward," said President and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko.
Diaz recorded one assist in four appearances (80 minutes) this season. Acquired via transfer from Club Sport Herediano of Costa Rica's First Division in 2019, he totaled six goals and 14 assists in 83 league matches (51 starts) with the Crew, adding two assists in four contests (three starts) during the 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs.
