KALAMAZOO- Jumping ahead early and never looking back, the Cincinnati Cyclones rung in the New Year with a convincing 5-2 victory over the Kalamazoo Wings during the K-Wings 13th Annual New Year's Eve Bash at Wings Stadium.

After trading chances early on, the Cyclones struck first when David Pacan (4th) fired a wrister off the faceoff from the right circle. With the goal the former K-Wing increased his road point streak to nine games.

Scoring late in the period on a second chance rebound, Zach Budish increased Cincinnati's advantage to 2-0 by registering his seventh goal of the season with a wrister from the left circle.

The Cyclones improved their record to 5-0-0-0 when leading after the opening 20 minutes.

Using the momentum from the first, Cincinnati quickly added to their lead with a goal from Chris Reed (2nd) 3:27 into the second period.

After Reed's goal, the K-Wings made a goaltending change replacing Joel Martin with Scott Munroe. Martin, who played 23:27, made 12 saves on 15 shots. Munroe finished the game with 14 saves.

Beating the clock, Josh McFadden made the score 4-0 with a tally scored with one-tenth of a second remaining in the stanza.

Continuing the offense, the Cyclones added their fifth goal of the night just 1:13 into the final period. Josh Shalla (13th) found room at the right circle and lifted the puck over the blocker of Munroe.

The K-Wings would find the back of the net at 7:46 of the stanza in the form of a Sacha Guimond (3rd) power play goal. The goal snapped a 108:22 scoreless streak versus the Cyclones.

Matt Caria (6th) tacked on a late goal to close out the game's scoring.
