Stockton Thunder News Release

Thunder defenseman Austin Levi has been recalled on loan by the Carolina Hurricanes and assigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, will be without defenseman Austin Levi as he has been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL by the Carolina Hurricanes.

Levi exits Stockton after playing in 23 games with the Thunder. During that time, he earned 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) and put up 17 penalty minutes. Of his 3 goals, 2 came on the man advantage and the defenseman had both a power-play assist and a shorthanded assist.

The 22-year-old defenseman returns to the Checkers where last season he played 10 games and scored one goal. Levi was assigned to the Thunder by the Carolina Hurricanes as part of the agreement that sent the rights to Corey Trivino to the Florida Everblades. Levi started the season in Florida, playing three games and picking up an assist.

Today on New Year's Eve, come watch the Ray Morgan Company's Painted Classic as the Thunder and Reign will play a regular season contest on the one-of-a-kind sheet of ice that was painted by fans last night! For tickets call (209) 373-1500 or visit StocktonThunder.com .
