GAME 5 - EASTERN CONFERENCE QUARTERFINALS / BOBBLEHEAD BLOWOUT

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: With another exhilarating win under their belts, the Cyclones return to the ice tonight in hopes of closing out this Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series with the Orlando Solar Bears. Since 2007, the Clones are 13-7 in games where they could capture a series win. Through three games of this best-of-seven battle, Cincy has outscored the Solar Bears 13-6.

TONIGHT'S PROMOTION: All fans can enjoy $1 John Morrell Hot Dogs all night long!

SCOUTING THE SOLAR BEARS: Vince Williams' club dropped a heartbreaker on Wednesday night despite pulling the game even midway through the third period. Their leading scorer, Mickey Lang, earned his first goal of the postseason and paces the Solar Bears in playoff scoring with three points (1g, 2a) in as many games. Their top two defensemen, Cody Wild and Bryce Aneloski, are tied for second on the club with two points apiece. Maxime Clermont lost his second consecutive start despite a solid effort in Game 3 and now owns an 0-2 record with a goals-against average of 3.07. Cody Reichard, who lost in Game 2, is 0-1 this postseason with a lofty 5.16 GAA.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: APRIL 23, 2014: A late goal from Byron Froese and a solid performance between the pipes was enough to lift the Cyclones over the Orlando Solar Bears by a 2-1 final score in front of 1,784 at U.S. Bank Arena. With the victory, the Cyclones took a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Hot off a hat trick and a five-point performance in Game 2, Froese converted a timely game-winning goal, inching his team within one game of advancement.

Closing Clones: When the Cyclones hold the lead heading into the third period, they were nearly unbeatable. This season, they went 32-0-2 when ahead through 40 minutes - one of just five ECHL teams to not blow the lead in regulation. All time in postseason play, they are 39-2 in such situations.

The Rule of Threes: When the Cyclones allowed three goals or less, they were a remarkable 33-8-2-2 this season. In playoff action, their success is amplified even further - boasting a 53-17 record since the 2007 playoff year.
