
Cyclones Acquire Goaltender Martin Houle

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, announced today that they have acquired goaltender Martin Houle from the Las Vegas Wranglers in exchange for future considerations. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
Houle, 23, has played in three games this season with Las Vegas (ECHL) turning in a 1-2 record with a 3.03 goals against average. Last season Martin split time between Wheeling (ECHL) and Philadelphia (AHL). With the Nailers, he compiled a 5-13-3 record with a 3.83 goal against average. As a member of the Phantoms, Houle posted a 2-5 record with a 2.85 goals against average.
The five-foot-eleven, 180 pound native of Montreal is in his fourth professional season. An eighth round pick of Philadelphia in the 2004 draft, Houle has played in one game in the NHL. During his junior career, Martin posted a 65-51-9 record and nine shutouts with Cape Breton (QMJHL).
Houle is expected to be in Cincinnati this weekend.

The Cyclones home opener is at U.S. Bank Arena against Dayton on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30pm. There will be a special Kelly Cup championship banner raising ceremony prior to that game.
