Johnstown Chiefs News Release
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets, and the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters and Syracuse Crunch, announced today a game time change for Sunday, November 30, as well as two special appearances that will be made at the game.
Originally scheduled for 2:35 PM, the Chiefs' game against the Florida Everblades has been moved to 7:05 PM due to another event being held at the War Memorial in the afternoon.
The Chiefs are also pleased to mention that Somerset Olympian Sam Sacksen, and former Chief Garrett Burnett will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs prior to that night's game. Sacksen, a graduate of Rockwood Area High School, represented the United States at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Competing in the pentathlon, he was the highest finishing American in the competition, placing 18th. Burnett, meanwhile, made a lasting impression on Johnstown Chiefs fans in his stint with the team in 1997-98. A known enforcer, Burnett complied an astounding 331 penalty minutes in just 34 games to go along with one goal and one assist.
Mark your calendars, the Chiefs are back on home ice on Friday, November 21! Johnstown will be hosting its Penn State Pride Night as they take on the Reading Royals at 7:05 PM. Bring your blue and white gear to the UPMC Health Plan Ice Rink at the Cambria County War Memorial because the craziest PSU fan will take home a Penn State prize pack. Great seats are still available, but going fast, and you can get yours today by calling 814-539-1799 or 1-800-SLAPSHOT.
