
RoadRuners Receive Goalie Kyle Jones From Worcester

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, announced today that rookie goalie Kyle Jones was loaned to the team from Worcester of the American Hockey League.
Jones, 25, was 1-1-0 in three apperances with the Sharks with a 5.20 goals against average and a.756% save percentage. The North Delta, British Columbia native won his professional debut stopping 17 of 20 shots in a 4-3 win at Hartford on Nov. 7.
Jones is the winningest goaltender in NCAA Division III history after posting a record of 87-10-8 with a 1.61 goals against average and a .926% save percentage in 105 games from 2004-08 at St. Norbert College. He was the recipient of the 2007-08 Sid Watson Award as the NCAA Division III Player of the Year with a 21-1-3 record along with a 1.09 goals against average and a .950% save percentage while leading the Green Knights to the 2008 NCAA National Championship.
Jones also recorded 25 career shutouts while at St. Norbert College, the second most shutouts in NCAA history behind only Michigan State's Ryan Miller who amassed 26 shutouts during his college career.
Jones signed a free agent contract with the Worcester Sharks on May 20, 2008. He participated in the 2008 San Jose Sharks Prospect Tournament at Las Vegas and also was invited to San Jose's training camp in September.
Phoenix returns to US Airways Center for a three-game home-stand at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday when they welcome the Las Vegas Wranglers.
