
Aces Off To Best Start Ever

It will be a showdown for first place in the West Division when Alaska
travels to Victoria for games on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
The Aces swept their weekend series with Utah to extend their winning
streak to four games and improved to 7-0-1 in the last eight games to climb
into first place in the ECHL with 21 points and a 10-2-1 record. The Salmon
Kings have won their last three games and are in second place in the West
Division with 15 points and a 7-6-1 record.
Victoria has won the last two meetings to improve to 7-12-3 all-time at
home against the Aces. Alaska is 30-9-4 overall against the Salmon Kings
and 15-4-3 at Victoria.
Alaska leads the league on the penalty kill with 91.5 percent (65-for-71)
and is third in scoring with 3.69 goals per game and goals-against average
with 2.31. Victoria is fourth in the league in goals-against average with
2.57 and they are second in home power play percentage with 27.6 percent
(16-for-58).
Cam
Keith leads the league with 14 assists and is tied for eighth in
scoring with 16 points while Colin
Hemingway is tied for fourth in the league with 11 assists and 18
points. Josh
Soares, who was called up to the American Hockey League by Peoria on
Friday, is tied for second in the league with 10 goals and tied for sixth
with 17 points.
Aces rookie Jean-Phillipe
Lamoureux has played every game and is 10-2-1 with a goals-against
average of 2.20. Lamoureux leads the league in wins (10), minutes (790) and
saves (405) and he is tied for the lead with two shutouts. Victoria's Jonathan
Boutin is tied for the lead with two shutouts and is 5-2-1 with a
goals-against average of 2.40.
Alaska's Matt Shasby leads ECHL defensemen with 13 points and is second with four goals and nine assists while Victoria's Dylan Yeo is second among league defensemen with nine assists and is tied for second with 11 points.
Gladiators Help Boost Attendance
More than 20,000 for games on Friday and Saturday in Gwinnett and the
second sellout of the year in Elmira on Friday helped the ECHL raise its
average attendance to 4,155 per game.
The weekend also saw Florida draw over 12,000 fans for two games against
Augusta while Charlotte had 6543 for its game against Mississippi and
Ontario welcomed 6,271 for a game against Stockton. Victoria had almost
9,000 for two games against Phoenix and Alaska had over 14,000 for a
weekend series against Utah.
The Gladiators had 9,614 on Friday and 11,072 on Saturday. It is the eighth
time in the last three years and the 12th time in history that Gwinnett has
drawn over 10,000 fans, including four sellout crowds of 11,355. Elmira led
the league in 2007-08 with 14 sellouts, including seven consecutive
sold-out crowds on Saturdays from Dec. 15, 2007-Mar. 1, 2008.
Stockton leads the ECHL with 8,216 per game, including their 13th sellout
on Nov. 8, which is up 23.6 percent from last season when they led the
league with 6,648 per game. The Thunder have finished first in attendance
the last three seasons, becoming the first team to lead the league for
three consecutive years since Florida was first for a record five straight
years from 2000-05.
Cincinnati has the sixth-largest crowd in team history with 6,596 on Nov. 8
and they have raised its average attendance by 23.6 percent to 3,107 per
game. The Cyclones led professional hockey in 2007-08 by increasing their
attendance by 36.8 percent.
Augusta has raised its attendance by 14.7 percent to 3,251 per game while
Gwinnett is up 10.3 percent to 6,240. The Gladiators are trying to raise
their average attendance for the fourth consecutive season while the Lynx
are trying to increase their average for the second year in a row after
seeing a 10.9 percent increase in 2007-08.
Bakersfield has raised its average attendance by 9.1 percent to 6,138 per game while Dayton has seen a 3.3 percent increase as the Bombers try to raise their average for the fourth year in a row.

Florida Everblades
* Everblades are second in the ECHL on the penalty kill with 90 percent
(72-for-80) including 95.0 percent (38-for-40) in the last six games.
* Florida leads the league with a goals-against average of 2.09.
* Everblades play at Augusta on Friday and Saturday.
Gwinnett Gladiators
* Gwinnett leads the league with 42.5 shots per game.
* Jordan
Fox leads the team with 10 points and he is tied for the team lead with
seven assists.
* Gladiators host Dayton on Wednesday and Mississippi on Saturday before
traveling to Charlotte on Sunday.
Mississippi Sea Wolves

Melanson leads the team with eight assists and 15 points and is tied
for the team lead with seven goals.

Cruthers is tied for fifth among league rookies with seven goals and is
tied for sixth with 13 points.

* Stingrays have won season-high five consecutive games including four in a
