Reign Gain Five Points In Standings

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign gained five points in the Pacific Division standings this past week, winning Wednesday, Nov. 12 against Stockton in a shootout, and Friday, Nov. 14 versus Bakersfield and picked up one point in their overtime loss against Stockton on Saturday, Nov. 15. The club posted a 2-0-1 record on the week, earning them second place in the Pacific Division, just one point shy of first behind the Fresno Falcons.

The Reign head out of town on a road trip to take on the Fresno Falcons Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22 and the Stockton Thunder on Wednesday, Nov. 26 and return home on Friday, Nov. 28 as they match up against the Bakersfield Condors.

2008-09 RECORD:

Overall Record: 7-4-1-1 (16 points)

Home Record: 3-2-1 (7 points)

Away Record: 4-2-0-1 (9 points)

Wednesday, November 12 - Ontario Reign vs. Stockton Thunder (W, 3-2, SO)

The Reign and the Thunder met for the first time in club history as the Reign took home the win, 3-2, in a shootout in front of 4,068 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Reign right wing Jon Rheault notched the club's first goal of the evening and center Tim Kraus found the back of the net with 34 seconds remaining in the game to send the match into overtime. Stockton left wing Mike Lalonde was the only Thunder player to find the net in to the shootout, with Reign left wing Todd Jackson, center Tim Kraus and right wing Jon Rheault lighting the lamp, sealing the win for Ontario.

Friday, November 14 - Ontario Reign vs. Bakersfield Condors (W, 3-2)

The Reign took home their third straight victory as they defeated the Bakersfield Condors 3-2 in front of 4,504 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Reign defenseman David Walker netted two goals in the match-up and right wing Maxime Boisclair lit the lamp for his first goal this season. Reign netminder Jeff Zatkoff stopped 37 of the 39 shots he faced in the win.

Saturday, November 15 - Ontario Reign vs. Stockton Thunder (OTL, 2-3)

The Stockton Thunder stole the win from the Reign 2-3 in overtime, in front of 6,271 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena, as the Reign presented Military Appreciation Night. The second meeting of the two teams during the 2008-09 season, and the second match-up in one week, featured Reign center Jon Francisco notching two goals, both on the power play, to earn the Reign one point in the Pacific Division standings in the loss.
