Altoona Curve News Release
The Curve today placed OF Nyjer Morgan (right hamstring) and C Dave Parrish (right wrist) on the Disabled List, while C Neil Walker was activated from the D.L. and RHP Wardell Starling was transferred to the Curve's active roster from the roster of Class-A Hickory.
Morgan and Parrish were both injured during this past weekend's series at Harrisburg. Morgan is hitting .306 with a team-high 21 stolen bases in 56 games with Altoona since being promoted from Class-A Lynchburg in late June. Parrish is batting .292 with four home runs and 32 RBI in 72 games.
Walker, the Pirates' first round selection in the 2004 June draft, went 3-for-13 (.231) in five games before landing on the D.L. last Wednesday with a viral infection.
