Aeros capture Eastern League Southern Division regular season crown

With their 12-5 defeat of Altoona last night, the Akron Aeros have captured the 2006 Eastern League Southern Division Regular Season crown. This marks the fourth time in the past five seasons the Aeros have achieved this accomplishment.

Akron will now keep a watchful eye on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) and the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) who continue to battle for the second spot in the Eastern League Southern Division. The top two teams in the Eastern League Southern Division will play each other in the Southern Division Series with the winner advancing to the Eastern League Championship Series against the Northern Division winner.

Following is a schedule of games for the Eastern League Southern Division Series:

Wednesday, September 6 (7:05 p.m.) at Canal Park (Tickets Marked DIVIS1) Thursday, September 7 (7:05 p.m.) at Canal Park (Tickets Marked DIVIS2) Friday, September 8 (TBD) at Southern Division second place finisher's park Saturday, September 9 (TBD) at Southern Division second place finisher's park - If Necessary Sunday, September 10 (7:05 p.m.) at Canal Park (Tickets Marked DIVIS3) - If Necessary

SPECIAL TICKET OFFERS

Individual game tickets for the Eastern League Southern Division Series games at Canal Park are only $6.00 and may be purchased in advance or the night of the game at the Aeros box office. The Aeros have also partnered with Holland Oil, Subway and Key Bank to provide a special voucher redeemable at the Aeros box office for a $1.00 ticket for any playoff game played at Canal Park. These special vouchers are available at participating Holland Oil, Subway and Key Bank locations, however; quantities are limited and seating is based on availability.
