Portland, ME - The Eastern League of Professional Baseball is pleased to announce that New Hampshire Fisher Cats outfielder Adam Lind has been selected as the 2006 Eastern League Most Valuable Player. Prior to receiving his promotion to the Syracuse SkyChiefs of the Triple-A International League on July 25th, Lind was threatening to become just the fifth player in the history of the Eastern League to win the Triple Crown. In 91 games with Fisher Cats this season, the 23-year old hit .310 with 24 doubles, 19 homers, 71 RBI, 43 runs scored, a .543 slugging percentage and a .357 on-base percentage. At the time of his promotion Adam was leading the league in home runs, RBI, slugging percentage and extra-base hits and was ranked second in the league in batting average.

Lind was also selected by Baseball America as being the "Best Batting Prospect" and having the "Best Power" in the Eastern League this season.
