Coyotes Re-Assign Zigomanis To San Antonio

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-assigned center Mike Zigomanis to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Zigomanis, 27, has recorded 2-1-3 and six penalty minutes (PIM) in 33 games with the Coyotes this season. He also has 1-2-3 and two PIM in six games with San Antonio.

The Toronto, Ontario native signed with Phoenix as a free agent on July 21, 2006. Last season, his first as a Coyote, Zigomanis set career-highs in goals (14), assists (9), points (23), games played (75), PIM (46), and shots (142).

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Zigomanis has 19-14-33 and 58 PIM in 167 career NHL games with Carolina, St. Louis and Phoenix. In 108 games with the Coyotes, Zigomanis has recorded 16-10-26 and 52 PIM.

Zigomanis was originally drafted by Carolina in the second round (46th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
