
Sharks Host "Go Red Night" With A Visit From Wally The Green Monster

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced that the Sharks have teamed up with the American Heart Association for the 2nd Annual ¡°GO RED Night¡± at the DCU Center when the Sharks host the Lowell Devils on Friday, February 22 at 7:05pm.
The Sharks Go Red Night is part of a series of events to raise awareness around women and heart disease, which included National Wear Red Day on February 1st, 2008. The American Heart Association¡¯s website www.goredforwomen.org, provides a free online heart check-up and recipes for better heart health.
The first 500 fans will receive an ¡°I ¢¾ the Sharks¡± placard and the opportunity to win a hockey stick autographed by the Sharks by signing up for the Go Red movement. The night will also include the popular ¡°Chuck-A-Puck¡± contest with proceeds to benefit the American Heart Association.
Wally the Green Monster will join FINZ and do his best to help root the Sharks on to victory against their divisional rival on ¡°GO RED Night.¡± Also, you can try to dance like Jonathan Papelbon - as there will be a dance contest in honor of the sensational closer.
Second intermission will feature a ¡°Real Men Wear Red Dresses¡± competition between teams made up of young ¡°friends with hearts,¡± WSRS Morning Show host Greg Byrnes, members of the Sharks Front Office, and Adult Survivors, who will all don the red dress and shoot pucks into nets. The red dress is the symbol of the Go Red For Women movement.
Seats are available at the second annual Sharks Go Red Night for the discounted price of $15.50. $5.00 from every ticket sold will be donated to the American Heart Association. To purchase tickets, please visit https://www.sharksahl.com/gored.
The Sharks return home to the DCU Center for nine of the next 10 games and 19 of the final 29. It all begins on Friday, Feb. 22, for a 3-in-3 weekend, with all three games on home ice. Friday¡¯s match up features Lowell with a visit by Wally the Green Monster on GO RED Night! The Portland Pirates skate into town on Saturday and the Springfield Falcons wrap up the weekend with an 8:05pm start on Sunday the 24th.
