Griffins Sign Jason Jozsa To PTO

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Thursday signed defenseman Jason Jozsa (JOH-sa) to a professional tryout.

Jozsa, 26, comes to the Griffins from the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL. The Calgary, Alberta, native currently leads Wranglers defensemen and places among the league's top blueliners with 30 points (T9th) and 28 assists (5th) in 49 games.

Aside from seven AHL contests with the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights in 2006-07 and two games with the Quad City Flames earlier this season, Jozsa has spent his entire five-year career in the ECHL. He has accumulated 121 points (25-96-121) and 193 penalty minutes in 329 professional games.

Jozsa will be available to make his Griffins debut on Friday when Grand Rapids hosts the Manitoba Moose at 7 p.m.
