Countdown to Face-Off
February 26, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
For the third time in a span of five days, the Kalamazoo Wings will tangle with the Cincinnati Cyclones. On the season, the K-Wings are 6-2-1-1 versus the Cyclones. Seven of the 10 meetings between the teams have been decided by a single goal and five of the games have ended in either overtime or a shootout.
Extending their unbeaten streak to nine games (7-0-0-2) last night with an 8-5 victory over the Toledo Walleye, the K-Wings are now atop of the North Division. Kalamazoo will look to increase their lead in the standings, as the second place Wheeling Nailers are idle this evening.
So far this season, Wings Stadium has not treated the reigning Kelly Cup Champions well. Playing just their fourth game this season on Vanrick Drive, Cincinnati is 0-1-1-1 in their three previous visits to Wings Stadium. The Cyclones enter the night in third place in the North Division, three points ahead of the Walleye.
