Edmonton Recalls Bryan Pitton to Oklahoma City

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, announced the Edmonton Oilers have recalled goaltender Bryan Pitton (PITT-in) from the Thunder to the Okahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

The Thunder has also released goaltender Matt Pamidi from his emergency backup contract and signed Dan Tormey (TORR-mee) to an emergency backup goaltender contract.

Pitton, 22, was last recalled by Oklahoma City on Dec. 21, one day after Oklahoma City goaltender Jeff Desluariers was selected to play for Team Canada at the 2010 Spengler Cup Tournament.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound goaltender has won the ECHL Goaltender of the Week award three times in his career and is 34-35-9 in 84 career games with the Thunder, recording a 3.08 goal-against-average and .900 save percentage.

This year, he is 2-1-0 in four games with Oklahoma City with a 2.74 GAA and .914 save percentage. The native of Brampton, Ontario is under contract with Edmonton of the National Hockey League after being selected by the Oilers in the fifth round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Tormey, 25, spent four years (2005-09) of his college hockey career at Minnesota State-Mankato (NCAA), where he appeared in 56 games with a 19-27-4 record, .887 save percentage and 3.33 goals-against-average.

He also spent three years of his junior career with Des Moines and Cedar Rapids of the USHL, totaling a 33-19-2 record in 64 games with a .917 save percentage and 2.69 GAA.
