Jim McKenzie to Work Shift at Krispy Kreme

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL ‚¬Å“Award of Excellence, ‚¬Â announced right wing Jim McKenzie is scheduled to appear at the grand opening of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts at 2809 West March Lane in Stockton on Tuesday, Mar. 1 from 7-8:00 a.m.

Motorists on their way to work or those simply looking to stop in for a morning bite for breakfast will be treated by McKenzie during the hour, who will service customers for a shift during the grand opening as a guest server.

Customers are strongly encouraged by the Thunder to stop in for the hour with McKenzie on hand. All purchases during the hour at the store will go toward a special sales competition between McKenzie, representatives from the Stockton Ports minor league baseball team and The United Way of San Joaquin County.

The winner of the most sales during their shift will receive a donation from Krispy Kreme, forwarded to charity of choice.

The Thunder has selected the Stockton Thunder Foundation as recipient of charitable contributions for the event.

A proud affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, the Thunder was voted "Best Local Sports Team" by readers of the San Joaquin Magazine for the third straight year, led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the fifth consecutive season in 2009-10.
