February 26, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release
Rookie goaltender Chris Carrozzi was assigned to AHL Chicago by the Atlanta Thrashers on Saturday.
Carrozzi, 20, posted a 13-13-5 record with a 3.23 GAA and a .896 save percentage in 35 games with the Gladiators this season. He stopped 41 of 43 shots in a 3-2 Gwinnett win Friday night in Trenton that snapped a three-game losing streak for the Glads.
The Nepan, Ontario native capped a four-year career in juniors last season with Mississauga in the OHL where he picked up 19 wins to go with a .916 save percentage. Carrozzi was a sixth round pick (#154) in the 2008 draft by the Thrashers.
This is his first career call-up to the AHL.
The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
