ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, lost 7-2 to the Idaho Steelheads before 5,497 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena Friday night.

The Reign took a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal by Justin Taylor at 18:58 of the first period, as Taylor redirected a Jordan Hill slap shot past Adrien Lemay. Pat Bowen also picked up an assist. Mark Derlago's goal at 19:58 tied the game at one going into the first intermission.

Idaho jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the second period on goals by Steve Olesky at 9:52 and Evan Barlow at 19:00. Barlow's goal came while the Reign was short handed.

Bear Trapp made it 4-1 early in the third period before C.J. Stretch's power-play goal at 4:25 cut the Idaho lead to 4-2. Lemay got a pad on Kyle Kraemer's shot, but couldn't get a handle on the rebound. Stretch swooped in and hammered it home for his fifth marker of the season. However, the Steelheads went on to win 7-2 after a goal by Geoff Irwin and two by Aki Seitsonen.

Zacharias had 38 saves in the loss, while Lemay saved 27 in the win.
