Condors Sign Western League Scorer

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League have added reinforcements, signing RW Mike Wirll from the junior ranks. He will be in the lineup tonight when the Condors host the Anchorage Aces at 7:00pm.
Wirll, 20, spent this season playing with the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the Western Hockey League, where he recorded 37g-53a-90pts in 69 games. He ranked 13th in the league in points and third with six shorthanded goals. The Hurricanes did not make the playoffs.
Last season, the 5'11", 205lb winger finished 19th in the WHL with 82 points. In his four years at the junior ranks, Wirll scored 101g-149a-250pts in 262 games. A native of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan, Wirll also competed on Team Canada's Under-18 National Team in 2000.
The Condors will host Anchorage on Friday night and the Fresno Falcons on Saturday night from Centennial Garden. The first 2,000 fans on Friday will receive a Condors CD wallet, sponsored by KUZZ 107.9 and Sierra Mist. On Saturday, the first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a Cal, the Baby Condor beanie doll, provided by KERO 23, KNZR 1560 and Frank's Brake. Doors open on both nights at 6:00pm, with game time starting at 7:00pm.
The Condors will host Games 1 and 2 of the 2003 Taylor Cup Playoffs against the rival San Diego Gulls on April 11th and 12th. Individual tickets will go on sale for these games on Friday, April 4th at the Garden box office. Until that time, tickets may only be purchased through mini-plans or by reserving a group of 20 or more people.
