San Diego Gulls News Release

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls have placed Mark Pederson on injured reserve, activated Kevin Grant, signed Miguel Delisle and waived Robb Wismer, the West Coast Hockey League club announced today.

Pederson, 35, was placed on the 14-day injured list after suffering a groin injury March 14 against the Anchorage Aces. The 6-foot-2-inch, 196-pound native of Prelate, Saskatchewan leads the Gulls with 72 points, which is fifth in the WCHL. Pederson is second in the league with 39 goals and first with eight game-winning tallies. He's scheduled to come off IR on April 11, the day of San Diego's first playoff game.

Grant, 34, returns to the lineup after spending the last two weeks on the injured list. The 6-foot-3-inch, 210-pound veteran from Toronto has played in 31 games for the Gulls this season, totaling 24 points (5g, 19a) and 62 penalty minutes. The Blue and Orange are 24-6-1 with Grant in the lineup.

Delisle comes to the Gulls after spending the last five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (juniors). The 6-foot-2-inch, 200-pound rookie from Cornwall, Ontario racked up 79 points (35g, 44a) this season, splitting time with the Owen Sound Attack and Kingston Frontenacs. Last season, Delisle was first in the OHL with 55 goals and eighth with 95 points. The 20-year-old was a fourth round selection of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Wismer, 24, played in six games for San Diego, picking up one assist and four penalty minutes. The Gulls signed him after being waived by the Long Beach Ice Dogs earlier this month. In 65 total games this season, the 5-foot-10-inch, 180-pound rookie forward netted 14 points (3g, 11) and 32 penalty minutes. Wismer turned pro at the beginning of the 2002-03 season after spending the last three years at Seneca College.
