Toledo, OH -- In what could be a preview of an opening round playoff series, the Toledo Storm beat the Cincinnati Cyclones 3-2 on Friday at the Toledo Sports Arena.
Toledo led 2-1 after one period of play. The Cyclones Aaron Brand tied the game with his 21st goal of the season just 30 seconds into the second period.
But a power play goal by Toledo's Jim Brown at 6:49 of the third period proved to be the game-winning goal for the Storm. Toledo improved to 7-1-1 against Cincinnati in the regular season series that concludes tomorrow in Toledo.
The Cyclones and Storm meet again on Saturday at the Toledo Sports Arena at 7:30 PM. Cincinnati will then close out the regular season on Sunday in a 2:30 PM match-up at Johnstown.
