Week in Review :
Sunday, October 9th : It was standing room only as fans packed the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center for the Bakersfield Condors 2005-2006 Open House & Family Day. Presented by KGET-TV 17, the event featured a public skate with Condors players as well as a team scrimmage and shoot-out. For the fourth year in a row, admission was free with the donation of two canned goods. A record 7,000 lbs of food was collected on behalf of The Salvation Army Food Pantry, more than doubling the total collections of the last three seasons combined. This food will allow The Salvation Army to continue in their relocation efforts following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Season ticket holders were able to pick up their tickets and fans got their first look at new Condors merchandise. The event also included kid- friendly activities like balloon animals by Watermelon the clown, visits from Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal and the Condors inflatable Slapshot game.
The Bakersfield Condors season opens in 12 days at home on October 22nd against the Victoria Salmon Kings. Season ticket, mini-plans and group outings can be reserved by contacting the Condors office at 324-PUCK (7825) for more information.
