
Two Everblades called up to AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman Sean Curry and forward Joel Ward have received call-ups to the American Hockey League.
Curry was called up to the AHL by the Providence Bruins and Ward received his call-up to the AHL by the Houston Aeros. The 23-year-old Curry has played in 170 total AHL games with the Lowell Lock Monsters over the past three seasons. The former 7th round draft pick by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2001 made his professional debut with the Everblades in 2002-03, skating in 32 games before receiving his first call-up to the Lock Monsters. Overall in his three professional seasons, Curry has scored 27 points (4g, 23a) and picked up 308 penalty minutes in 202 games.
The 25-year-old Ward heads to Houston after spending the past three seasons at the collegiate level with the University of Prince Edward Island. Prior to his three-year stint at P.E.I., Ward skated in eight professional playoff games with the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the West Coast Hockey League. From 1997-2001, Ward spend four seasons at the junior level in the Ontario Hockey League with Owen Sound, where he scored 152 points in 235 career games.
