Columbus Crew SC Reveals 2020 Promotional Calendar

COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today released information on several matchday promotions set to take place during the 2020 Major League Soccer regular season at MAPFRE Stadium. This year features the return of popular theme nights such as Post-Match Fireworks, presented by MAPFRE Insurance, and Hispanic Heritage Night.

"We are excited to unveil our promotional schedule for 2020, which we believe will appeal to both Crew SC supporters and Columbus residents alike," said Crew SC Executive Vice President & Chief Business Officer Steve Lyons. "All of our efforts - from our matchday promotions and beyond - are a reflection of our commitment to create the best fan experience in all of MLS. We hope that in 2020, MAPFRE Stadium can become a gathering place for all of Columbus on matchdays."

The promotions begin on Sunday, March 1 during Opening Match, presented by MAPFRE Insurance, when Crew SC faces New York City FC. The match will feature a Crew flag giveaway for the first 10,000 supporters in attendance, courtesy of MAPFRE Insurance. April 25 sees the return of Scotts Post-Match Penalty Kicks - open to children 14 years and under - following the Black & Gold's match against the Philadelphia Union. Scotts Post-Match Penalty Kicks are also set to be featured during the Crew's matches on May 9, August 15 and September 19. On Saturday, May 9, MAPFRE Stadium will hold Military Appreciation Match, presented by AEP during the Crew's match against the Montreal Impact.

Crew SC kicks off June by holding Pride Night at MAPFRE Stadium during its Saturday, June 13 match against the Chicago Fire. A week later, the Crew hosts D.C. United on Saturday, June 20 in a match presented by OhioHealth. The first 5,000 children 14 and under in attendance on that day will receive a free mini-ball, courtesy of OhioHealth. The Black & Gold close out June with a home match against Atlanta United on Saturday, June 27 which will feature Post-Match Fireworks, presented by MAPFRE Insurance.

On Saturday, July 25, during its match against the Colorado Rapids, Crew SC is set to hold its 25th Anniversary Celebration and Alumni Night, presented by Pepsi, celebrating the history of the Crew as well as recognizing several of its alumni. A week later, the Black & Gold host Ohio rivals FC Cincinnati on Saturday, August 22 for the second leg of the Hell is Real derby, with the match being presented by OhioHealth.

September will feature two promotional nights, starting with Kick Childhood Cancer Night, which is slated to take place on Saturday, September 12. On that night, Crew SC will celebrate with several initiatives aimed at increasing pediatric cancer awareness while recognizing children who have been directly impacted by cancer as well as their families. Saturday, September 19 sees the return of Hispanic Heritage Night, during which the Club celebrates the local Hispanic community.

Crew SC's 2020 MLS preseason continues with the Black & Gold currently in Tucson, Arizona participating in the 2020 Visit Tucson Sun Cup, which runs from February 15-22.
