Loveland, Colorado - The Colorado Eagles (33-26-2-1) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (33-25-3-2) 4-3 Friday night at Budweiser Events Center.
Utah built an early 2-0 lead on two power-play goals 1:06 apart in the first 6:04 of the contest. T.J. Syner made it 1-0 on his 13th of the year followed by Connor Hardowa's third of the season. Barry Almeida assisted on both goals and Alex Krushelnyski extended his scoring streak to eight by assisting on the first goal. T.J. Syner picked up his second-straight multiple-game with an assist on the Hardowa goal.
Colorado came back with three unanswered to complete the period, including two 52 seconds apart in the final 1:50 of the frame and it was 3-2 Eagles after one.
The game stayed 3-2 for 26:37 before the Grizzlies got the equalizer on their third power-play goal of the night as Barry Almeida scored his 22nd of the year 5:39 into the third period.
Colorado got the lead back on a pileup with 10:45 remaining and 4-3 would be the final. The Grizzlies drew their sixth power-play of the contest with 4:34 remaining and had some chances in the final 15 seconds after a face-off, but were unable to tie.
Ryan Faragher stopped 18-straight at one point to keep the Grizzlies in the contest.
Utah scored three power-play goals in a game for the third time this season as they drew six of the eight power-plays.
