TULSA, OK (March 18, 2016)- The Missouri Mavericks fell 3-2 to the Tulsa Oilers on Friday night at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK.
The Mavericks outshot the Oilers 38-22 with Parker Milner in the net, stopping 19 shots on goal through 58:29.
Nathan Lutz scored the lone goal of the first period for the Oilers at 14:23 while the home team was on a power-play.
Andrew Courtney tied the game up with his twentieth goal of season, and third in two games, at 7:27 of the second frame. Sebastien Sylvestre and Darren Nowick assisted on the play. Tulsa fired back with another two goals before the end of the second period to take a 3-1 lead over the Mavericks via Mathieu Gagnon and Phil Brewer.
The Mavs came back within one goal of the Oilers, 3-2, just 1:18 into the final frame on a man-advantage when Darian Dziurzynski knocked in a feed from Trevor Ludwig and Rocco Carzo. Missouri pulled Milner from between the pipes for an extra attacker in the final minutes of regulation, but the league-leading Mavericks were unable to tie the game once more and force and overtime decision.
The Mavericks play their next two games on the road, travelling to Wichita, KS for back-to-back contests against the Wichita Thunder on Saturday (7:05p.m.) and Sunday (5:05p.m.) at INTRUST Bank Arena.
Missouri returns home to Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on Wednesday, Mar. 23 when they will face-off against the visiting Evansville IceMen at 7:05p.m. Tickets for all Missouri Mavericks home games are available online at Ticketmaster.com and in-person at the arena box office.
