Norfolk, Va. - After a long, two-week road swing, the Norfolk Admirals returned home to face the Reading Royals who remain undefeated in six games against Norfolk this season. Green ice and the Puck of the Irish wouldn't be enough, and the Admirals fell 4-1 Friday night at Scope Arena.

After a slow first 14 minutes, Royals scoring leader, Cam Reid notched his 18th goal of the season. The puck found his stick after Brandon Alderson traveled out of their zone, and passed it. Reid's laser from the top of the left ring hit the back of the net with 6:01 remaining in the first. The period concluded with the Royals on top, 1-0.

The second Reading goal came at 10:59 of the middle frame. Former Admiral Michael Pelech, who was traded to the Royals earlier this year, picked up an assist when he took the puck from out of the right corner. His pass was deflected by Admirals defenseman, Cole Martin, right to the stick of Reading's Kevin Young, who was waiting just below the right circle. His quick wrister went top shelf, widening the Royals lead, 2-0.

Early in the final frame, Braden Christoffer scored an unassisted goal for Norfolk that turned out to be their only tally of the night. As Royals defenseman Derik Johnson tried to launch it from their zone, Christoffer grabbed the puck out of mid-air and cut Reading's lead in half, 2-1, at 1:30.

Just over four minutes later, the Royals answered and regained their two-goal advantage. At 5:50 in the third, forward Scott Tanski tallied his 10th goal and of the season to make it, 3-1.

With 2:24 left in regulation, Nitkita Kashirsky rushed to the net after the puck was caught in traffic in front of Riopel's net. His marker at 17:36 sealed the Royals victory, 4-1.

Riopel denied 20 of 24 shots on net, while Martin Ouellette saved all but one of 27 Admirals attempts. Both teams went scoreless during their power plays; the Royals went 0-for-3 while Norfolk would go 0-for-5.

The Admirals play Reading Saturday night, at Scope Arena at 7:15 p.m. where they look to earn two points against their division rival.

2. REA - #27 Watters
