Allen Americans News Release
Head-To-Head - This is the fourth and final meeting between the two teams this season. Allen went 1-2-0 in three games in Anchorage in February. This is the Aces first ever visit to Allen. Chris Crane had his first pro hat trick against the Aces on February 12th.
Pushing 90 - Americans forward and ECHL scoring leader, Chad Costello, has 87 points coming into tonight's game against Alaska. Costello leads the ECHL in points (87), assist (65), power play assists (28) and power play points (35).
Mac Daddy - David Makowski is playing in his 97th pro game tonight. The Americans defenseman had his two-game goal scoring streak snapped on Wednesday night against Missouri.
Not The Average Rookie - Allen Americans rookie goalie James Murray will make his second start of the season tonight when the Americans face the Alaska Aces. In Murray's only other pro start, he stopped 40 of 42 shots in Allen's 3-2 win over Wichita last Sunday.
Missing Americans - Chris Crane had surgery today and is expected to miss the next month. Justin Courtnall is still out of the lineup and is expected to miss the next three weeks with an injury. Greger Hanson is still on loan to the Utica Comets of the AHL, while Rick Pinkston and Joel Rumpel are still in San Jose. Spencer Asuchak is out serving his six game suspension.
Alaska Aces Notes - The Alaska Aces earned a split this week against the Wichita Thunder in back to back road games. Alaska has signed Joshua Trimberger as an emergency backup goalie. Aces forward Garet Hunt leads the ECHL with 234 penalty minutes.
