1/17/06 Cleveland 3, Milwaukee (OT) 4 - The Barons battled back to salvage a point on the road with an overtime loss in Milwaukee. Steve Bernier established the lead for the Barons just 39-seconds into the game. The Admirals converted on the power play at the 17:52 mark of the first to tie the game. Darren Haydar extended the Milwaukee lead in the second with a power play goal at the 18:02 mark. Two goals in the final period by the Barons forced the overtime period. Josh Hennessy scored just past the mid-point of the final period to trim the Milwaukee lead to 3-2. With Dimitri Patzold pulled from the Barons goal for an extra attacker, Ray DiLauro scored his fifth goal of the year. Milwaukee would score a power play goal in overtime to win the game.
1/20/06 Cleveland 1, Syracuse 3 - Martin Prusek stole the show for Syracuse on Friday night with a 35-save effort against the Barons. Syracuse established a 2-1 lead in the opening period. Brian Gornick scored on an assist from Brandon Sugden. Barons goaltender Nolan Schaefer then got beat on a rebound strike from Greg Maudlin. Syracuse surrended a power play goal to Ryane Clowe on assists to Patrick Rissmiller and Ray DiLauro. The second period saw no scoring and the Crunch out-shot the Barons 11 to 9. Prusek made 18-saves in the third period to preserve the Syracuse win. Jamie Pushor scored the final goal for the Crunch into the empty net.
1/21/06 Cleveland 3, Syracuse 6 - Joe Motzko scored three goals for Syracuse as the Crunch defeated the Barons. Syracuse jumped to a 2-0 lead on the Barons in the opening period. Motzko scored on the power play and then Andy Canzanello extended the lead to two. The Barons poured on the second period pressure, but still trailed by two goals after forty minutes of play. Cleveland scored back-to-back goals to tie the game before Syracuse answered with tallies from Joakim Lindstrom and Ben Simon. Motzko scored two more goals in the third period to complete a hat trick and secure a 6-3 win. Josh Hennessy scored the Barons final goal on a rebound power play strike.

1/25/06 Cleveland vs. Omaha - National City Rink at the Q
The Barons get their first look at the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights Wednesday night at National City Rink at the Q. The teams will play again in March to complete the series. New to the league this year, Omaha is in sixth place in the West Division with a record of 16-21-1-7. Cleveland (20-26-2-1) sits in sixth place in the North Division. Omaha is led in scoring by Carsen Germyn and Mark Giordano, who each have 39 points this season. Cleveland is led in scoring by Steve Bernier with 18 goals and 20 assists for 38 points. Game time is 7:05pm
1/27/06 Cleveland vs. Milwaukee - National City Rink at the Q
Cleveland takes on Milwaukee in the sixth of eight meetings this season. Cleveland is 2-3-1-0 against Milwaukee this season. The Barons lost to the Admirals 4-3 in overtime on January 17th. Milwaukee currently owns a record of 28-11-3-1. Game time is 7:05pm.
1/28/06 Cleveland vs. Milwaukee - National City Rink at the Q
The Milwaukee Admirals make their last appearance in Cleveland in the seventh of eight match-ups between the teams. They will finish the series on March 10th in Milwaukee. Milwaukee's Scottie Upshall has eight points in three games against the Barons this season. For Cleveland, Mike Iggulden and Steve Bernier each have five points in five games against the Admirals this season. Game time is 7:05pm.
Barons Player of the Week
The Barons Player of the Week is defenseman Ray DiLauro. DiLauro finished the week with a goal and an assist in three games. He also had no penalty minutes and an even plus/minus rating. DiLauro's goal against Milwaukee on Tuesday, his fifth of the year, forced the game into overtime.
Home Cooking
The Barons are currently on a five game home winning streak, which matches the franchise record they set in mid-November. The Barons have played their last seven games on the road, going 2-4-1-0 on the road trip. They return to home ice on Wednesday to take on the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights. Cleveland is 12-10-1-0 at home, compared to 8-16-1-1 on the road.
How the West Was Won
The Barons have played seven of their last 10 games against the West Division. They will also play their next three games against teams from the West Division, heading into the All-Star Break. The Barons are currently 8-7-1-1 against the West Division.
All-Star Appearance
Barons left wing Patrick Rissmiller has been named to the PlanetUSA All-Star Team for the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, taking place at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg Jan. 31-Feb 1. This marks Rissmiller's first all-star appearance and he is the ninth Barons player to be selected for the All-Star game.
Absolutely Risserable
Barons left wing Patrick Rissmiller is currently second on the team in scoring with 36 points (10-26-36). The Barons All-Time Assists leader, Rissmiller's 26 assists currently lead the team. He is quickly approaching another Barons milestone as he is only one point behind Miroslav Zalesak as the Barons All-Time Points leader. Zalesak earned 166 points in his Barons career. Rissmiller currently has 165.
Don't Get Bernier-ed
Barons right wing Steve Bernier has recorded points (3-3-6) in four of his past five games. Bernier is currently tops on the team in scoring with 38 points (18-20-38) in 41 games. He also ranks fifth among AHL rookie scoring leaders and his 18 goals are tops on the team and sixth among AHL rookies.
The Cark-inator
Barons defenseman Matt Carkner has earned a career-best 18 points (7-11-18) this season. Prior to this season, Carkner's career-high was 13 points (2-11-13) in his second year in Cleveland. His seven goals this season find him tied for 9th among AHL defensemen and his 106 penalty minutes place him second on the Barons and 12th among league defensemen.
Heni-Powered
Barons center Josh Hennessy has recorded six points (3-3-6) in his last six games. On the season, the native of Brockton, MA has 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points in 49 games. Hennessy is third on the Barons and tied for 11th among AHL rookie scoring leaders.
St. Edward's vs. St. Ignatius
The St. Edward Eagles will host the St. Ignatius Wildcats on Saturday, January 28th at 3:30pm on National City Rink located in The Q. The game will take place prior to the Barons vs. Milwaukee game at 7:05pm. It is the third season that the two teams will play prior to the Barons. A ticket to the Barons game will grant admission to all of the day's festivities. The first 3,000 fans in the building will receive a Barons T-Shirt, courtesy of Cleveland Clinic Sports Health. Additionally, the game will feature an appearance by Tommy from Rugrats. The first 100 kids in attendance will receive a free photograph with Tommy courtesy of Cox Communications. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Barons front office at 216-420-0000.

Fans can watch the game via B2 Networks' Live Video Stream of the game on a pay-per-view basis of $6.00 per game. There is also a free audio version of the broadcast offered. Every Barons game broadcast begins with a pre-game show 15-minutes prior to face-off.
