SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Hershey Bears defenseman Lawrence Nycholat has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending January 22, 2006. In three games last week, the AHL All-Star blueliner recorded three goals and four assists for seven points.
Nycholat began the week by recording four points - two goals and two assists - in the first period of Hershey's 5-4 shootout loss at Philadelphia on Friday night. He then picked up a goal and an assist in Saturday's 7-3 home win over Portland, and followed up by assisting on the game-winning goal in Sunday's 4-3 rematch victory over the Pirates.
