Cincinnati Cyclones Receive Bonneau, Urquhart From Canadiens

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, announced Wednesday (Oct. 4) they have received forwards Jimmy Bonneau (pronounced buhn-KNOW) and Cory Urquhart (pronounced irk-HART) from the Montreal Canadiens. The two players are expected to be in uniform when the club opens camp on Saturday, Oct. 7 at SportsPlus (10765 Reading Rd., Evendale).

Bonneau, 21, a rugged 6-3, 200 pound forward, appeared in 65 games with Long Beach (ECHL) last season. He netted a goal and five assists for six points and amassed 137 penalty minutes. Bonneau was an eighth round selection (No. 241 overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by Montreal.

Urquhart, 22, also played in Long Beach (ECHL) last year, collecting 26 goals and 26 assists for 52 points in 67 games. The 6-3, 196 pound forward had ten multiple-point games with the Ice Dogs and scored all three goals in a 3-2 win over Bakersfield on March 12.

Both Bonneau and Urquhart have participated in both Montreal's and Hamilton's (the Canadiens AHL affiliate) training camps.

"We are looking forward to having Jimmy and Cory here," Cincinnati Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. "Jimmy will give us an intimidating presence on the ice and Cory is a dangerous player, especially on the power play."

They are the 21st and 22nd players invited to training camp by the Cyclones this season. The Cincinnati Cyclones open the 2006-07 season on Friday, October 20, hosting the Pensacola Ice Pilots.
