
Condors Educational Programs Underway

Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -The Bakersfield Condors are offering several educational opportunities for grade school and junior high students that provide them with the chance to make learning fun by merging education and hockey. These opportunities will allow students to earn free tickets to hockey games and the chance to meet players, coaches and mascots. Also, the Condors will once again hold the third annual Field Trip Day on Nov. 14. In addition to these great benefits, students and PTA's are encouraged to take part in fundraising opportunities for their school through various Condors fundraisers and Family Fun Nights.
The Educational programs include
T.H.I.N.K. (Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge) sponsored by Mercy and Memorial Hospitals and AARC Technology. The T.H.I.N.K. program is geared towards academic achievement. The purpose of this program is to reward students who reach their scholastic and/or behavioral goals with a ticket to a pre-determined T.H.I.N.K. night game. Each school and/or teacher will be able to set criteria requirements that the students must meet. All schools who sign up for the T.H.I.N.K program will be entered into the grand prize drawing to win a computer donated by AARC Technology.
Condors Classroom Champions sponsored by SC Architect, Inc. and 29 The Eyewitness News Station. Classroom Champions is dedicated to excellent attendance levels at school. Students who meet attendance requirements will be rewarded with a ticket to a pre-determined Classroom Champions game night. Attendance criteria will be managed by each individual school and/or teacher.
The Third Annual Field-Trip Day with the Condors sponsored by Bakersfield Californian, KERN 1410 AM and Arrival Communications. The Field Trip day is designed to provide students with a fun and educational opportunity that they will never forget. The Condors have purposely changed the start time of the hockey game on Tuesday, Nov. 14 to 10:30am to offer a educational day at Rabobank Arena. Educational booklets will be handed out to each individual student that links hockey to each subject in school including math, science, geography, and health-fitness.
Fundraising and Family Fun Nights with the Condors: Help raise money for your school through Condors fundraising. There are several options to choose from, each beneficial and rewarding. Specially priced tickets are also available for groups of 20-or-more. Family Fun Nights are happening at all Condors games so don't let your school miss out on the excitement!

Just for Kids! Don't forget to sign up for the coolest club in Condorstown for only $20. The Condors Kids Club is running from now until March 31 and provides members, age 12-and-under, with admission to six pre-determined games, several opportunities to meet the players, coaches and mascots, a Kids Club T-shirt, an exclusive badge for members only and cool prizes courtesy of the Bakersfield Californian, Brighthouse Networks and Wells Fargo Bank.
