
Chinooks Snap Rafters Five Game Win Streak, Split Series

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (18-14) dropped their fourth game to the Lakeshore Chinooks (14-17) at Witter Field this season and snapped their five-game win streak.
The Rafters only got two hits in the last five innings and left four runners on base overall.
Jacob Hinderleider (Davidson) got the Rafters off to a hot start, blasting a ball over the left-center-field wall in the second inning. It was the third Rafters home run at Witter Field this season.
The Chinooks responded with a three-run top of the third, off starter Jack Gonzales (Dixie State). After two batters reached via walks, Josh Glenn brought them home with a three-run homer.
Wisconsin Rapids cut the deficit to one in the fourth after an RBI single from Andrew Duran (New Orleans), who had a two-hit night.
Lakeshore added an RBI single in the fifth that ousted Gonzales from the game. He went 4.1 innings, allowing four earned runs but did total six strikeouts.
Collin Kiernan (Kean) earned the final out of the inning and worked a scoreless 2.2 innings.
Nick Torres (Long Island) entered for the ninth time this season in the eighth. He allowed his first earned run of the season. Two total came home for Lakeshore in the half-inning.
Down 6-2 in the bottom of the ninth, the Rafters got only one base runner and struck out three times.
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters head to Herr Baker Field to play the first place Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders. First pitch is at 6:35 PM. You can listen to the game on WFHR AM 1320.
