ASHWAUBENON, Wis. - The Green Bay Booyah fell to the Madison Mallards on Thursday night by a final score of 5-3 at Capital Credit Union Park.
The Booyah were behind the eight-ball by the bottom of the third inning after the Mallards scored three unearned runs. The Booyah were able to even things up in the bottom of the fourth when Tristin Garcia (Western Kentucky) launched a three-run home run to right field.
But the Mallards were able to answer with another two in the top of the fifth inning to make it 5-3. Both teams would be held silent the rest of the night.
Nadir Lewis (Princeton) was the lone member of the Booyah to record a multi-hit game. He went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and a stolen base.
The Booyah will hit the road on Friday night to take on the Lakeshore Chinooks and start a home-and-home series. The Booyah will give the nod to Ryan Stefiuk (Vanderbilt), who is 0-2 on the season with a 7.16 ERA. The Chinooks will start Dorsey Chatham, who is 0-1 with a 0.00 ERA on the season.
The Booyah will return on Saturday, July 3rd to take on the Chinooks. First pitch is slated for 4:05 pm. Kids can run the bases postgame, presented by Culver's and Y100FM. There will be a postgame concert by Panic Station followed by a fireworks show presented by Pepsi and a lighted baton giveaway presented by EatStreet.
